Payment Initiation Service (PIS)

1.0

Initiate direct payments from NewDay customers’ personal accounts.

Overview

The Payments API allows customers (PSUs) to initiate payments (Balance Transfer or Money Transfer) directly from their NewDay account through a third-party application or website, with the customer’s consent for each transaction. This ensures customers maintain full control over their financial activities.

For more details, refer to our Payment Initiation Service API Reference.

How it works

Before starting, ensure you meet regulatory requirements as an PISP:
  1. 1
Regulatory Approval: Register with your local authority as an PISP, such as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK via their website.
  2. 2
Open Banking Directory: Enrol with the UK Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE) and upload valid transport and signing certificates to the Directory.
  3. 3
NewDay Registration: Register with NewDay via the Dynamic Client Registration (DCR) endpoint to gain API access.

NewDay will also:

  • Verify available funds for the payment request.
  • Confirm the status of the payment order to ensure accuracy and completion.
