Overview
The Account Information API empowers Account Information Service Providers (AISPs) to securely access NewDay customers' account and transaction data with read-only permissions, granted through customer consent. AISPs can use this data to deliver innovative, value-added products and services to customers.
AISPs establish access by creating an account-access-consent resource, which defines the customer-approved data, such as accounts, balances, transactions, statements, party, offers and products.
Each data type is accessible via dedicated endpoints, detailed in the Account Information Service API Reference.
Benefits
Drive Innovation
Secure access to customer data enables AISPs to develop new financial tools and services for both customers and banks.
Unified Account View
Customers can conveniently see all their bank accounts from different providers in one place via an AISP.
How it works
Before starting, ensure you meet regulatory requirements as an AISP:
- 1Regulatory Approval: Register with your local authority as an AISP, such as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK via their website.
- 2Open Banking Directory: Enrol with the UK Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE) and upload valid transport and signing certificates to the Directory.
- 3NewDay Registration: Register with NewDay via the Dynamic Client Registration (DCR) endpoint to gain API access.
When creating an account-access-consent resource, include:
- 1Permissions: The specific data clusters approved for access.
- 2Expiration Date: The date when access to customer data ends.
- 3Transaction Validity Period: The historical date range of transactions and statements accessible to the AISP.
